A realistic schedule is a very important element for a successful project.  A realistic schedule includes a detailed knowledge of the work to be done. It has tasks sequenced in the correct order. It accounts for external constraints beyond the control of the team. Can be accomplished on time, given the availability of skilled resources and enough equipment.
